Hugh to play co-host at Hurley's wedding

Not only will Hugh Grant be attending former long-term companion Elizabeth Hurley’s wedding to her Indian-born beau Arun Nayar, but he is also reportedly going to be a co-host at the event.

The actor had revealed last month that he would not be attending the Hurley –Nayar wedding, and it was believed that Grant’s then lady love Jemima Khan was the reason he was staying away.

However, on the heels of the news that Grant and Khan had split following a three-year relationship, came reports that the actor would be making an appearance at his ex’s wedding.

A friend has now revealed that the actor will also be playing an important role at the British ceremony. He will not only be a co-host, but also has special speech-making responsibilities.

"Hugh will be like a co-host alongside the best man on the day. He will be making a speech - but pointedly it will be clean. It will be a comedy turn, but there will be no smutty little asides or innuendoes about the relationship they had all those years," the Daily Mail quoted a friend, as saying.

The pal also revealed that Hurley would be carefully going over Grant’s speech, for she doesn’t want her new hubby to be embarrassed.

"Hugh and Elizabeth will be going through what is allowed to be said and what is not. Elizabeth does not want to make her new husband feel awkward or embarrassed on their big day.

"Hugh will joke about how Elizabeth carried on like a right little Hitler when she produced him on Mickey Blue Eyes. He'll be asking Arun whether he really knows what he's taking on. To conclude he will speak of his happiness that Elizabeth has finally found a man who makes her fantastically happy," said the friend.

Grant will now join Sir Elton and other stars at Sudeley Castle, where the former Estee Lauder model and Nayar will exchange vows on March 3, and is also likely to be among the guests who accompany the couple to India for their traditional wedding ceremonies.

Hurley and Nayar’s Indian wedding ceremonies will take place in Mumbai, and Udiapur.

For the traditional wedding, Hurley will be decked out in a pink sari created by designer Tarun Tahiliani.
